The 2019 Subbies team have been an amazing group of 12 girls to coach this year. They bonded quickly with a mix of existing Subbies and two girls who moved up from Tinies, plus two girls who were new to the sport. I can proudly say that all girls have improved this year from our first class, this is evident from our competition results.
The girls did us proud achieving great placements throughout the year at each competition including runners up at the ACT Calisthenics Preliminary competition. These results are a reflection of their hard work and determination and memories were made to last a lifetime.
We would like to thank Marjory Smith for making our costumes this year, we are very appreciative of the time you spent this year to ensure the girls looked amazing on stage and for your constant support. Not only did you alter and make many of the existing costumes but you also managed to sew a whole new set for Folk. We can’t thank you enough for your help and support this year.
A massive thank you to my coaching team, Taylah Bowler, Talia Di Placido, Hannah Rose you have all improved so much this year and without you, we wouldn’t be able to achieve the amazing results, your support and assistance this year was greatly appreciated. A shout out to Claire James, my mentor, thank you for coming into class and providing your feedback and assistance, I really appreciate your support each year. Thank you to Megan Kratzel and Chloe Taunton for your help and guidance for the last few classes before Ballarat, the team have really benefited from having you at class. I would also want to thank Nat and Sandra for helping with hair at each comp, Yvonne for making the girls new practice skirts, parents who helped sequin costumes, all parents for taking their children to training and competitions and Bernie for her fundraising efforts and staying with the team when Mel had her baby. Thank you to Karen Davidson for being our Wardrobe Manager this year It’s a huge task to organise all the costumes, props and head pieces including storing them and bringing them to training and comps. I bet you never want to see a sequin again!
Lastly but not least, I would like to thank my manager Mel. You have been so amazing and supportive again this year and without your constant support and love, I know the team and myself wouldn’t be where they are today without you. You have done so much for the team and myself this year, I am so appreciative.
Good luck to all the girls who move up to Juniors next year as well as the girls who will remain in Subbies. I can’t wait to watch you grow and to see you all back next year.
